PPE has just had its Annual General Meeting at the lovely Weston Hall Hotel near Coventry in England. Here we discussed the state of the group in the beginning of 2025 and what we have planned for the rest of this year, and the years ahead.
Expeditions planned for this year include Wilder’s Gap and the dune sea of Southern Tunisia, with a possible side excursion to Kasserine Pass, all areas of interest for us as military history buffs. We also have group heading to Spain and Portugal to tour the battlefields of the Pennisular War of the early 1800’s.
We were also looking forward to possibilities in 2026 which will include a challenging trip to follow the history of the LRDG, SBS and Greek Sacred Squadron’s exploits among the Dodacanese islands and the Aegean Sea after the Italian surrender in late 1943.
PPE crew from 2023 at Ksar Ghilane
We are looking at a group heading to the crash site of Pelican 16 in southern Morocco, a challenging trip that would involve beach driving, camping and investigating the numerous shipwrecks along the coast. This will be a CAT 2 trip open to any high standard 4x4.
A reconnaissance into Algeria is also in the planning to see if we can take PPE-style expeditions into the vast deserts and stunning mountain formations of southern Algeria.
Finally, there may be a chance for a couple of our more adventurous members to join a recce of Western Libya with the experts from Desartica.
So, many great adventures ahead. As always, if you are interested in what we do, reach out. PPE is always looking for new crew!
