PPE Planning Meeting 2025

Greeting All as we get into the full swing of 2025!

We are having our annual expedition planning meeting on 22 February 2025 at a nice hotel (with pub) near Coventry, UK. This is a time for old and newly badged PPE members to socialize and catch up over a pint, as well as give prospective members an opportunity to meet the group. After this we will be adjourning to the board room to discuss plans for our 2025 expeditions.

Proposed Expeditions for 2025:

LRDG Aegean Campaign Expedition
This will be something new for us as we trade our trucks for sailboats. Luckily our members include several licensed sea captains and so the plan is to sail from Athens in our own chartered boats with berthing for 8-10 crew and go in search of the many small, uninhabited or sparsely populated islands the LRDG operated on after the end of the North African Campaign.

Wilders Gap & NZ Division Expedition

We are currently seeking access to sites of historical interest in the Wilders Gap region of Tunisia. After having been turned away in 2023 we are keen to get back into this area to search for locations and relics from the NZ Division’s left flank of the Mareth Line. We will also be returning to Garet Ali to continue to locate relics from the Lost Patrol. This will be a CAT 1 trip, but we may consider a second patrol of Cat 2 vehicles if there is enough interest.
